James Edward Brawner, Age 55 of Mechanicsville, Maryland formerly of Waldorf, Maryland died on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Washington County Regional Hospital, Hagerstown, Maryland.

Born October 25, 1953 in Washington DC. He was the son of the late Charles W. Brawner and the late Mary Delores Fenwick Brawner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Allen Shorter and sister, Gleness Ann Brawner.

James was educated in the Charles County Schools and was employed with the Prince George's County School Board and worked as a Security Officer.

He enjoyed riding motor cycles, playing softball, dancing, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends. He loved to have talk time with his children.

He leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Troy J. Brawner and James Lyles; daughter, Tykeya J. Brawner; (6) sisters, Mary Castillo, Brenda Tucker, Deborah Posey, Diane Brawner, Sheila Brawner and Lisa Proctor; (7) brothers, Francis Brawner, Charles Brawner Jr, Earl Brawner, Joseph Brawner, Richard Brawner, Ronald Brawner and Kevin Brawner; (5) grandchildren, Lanijah and Nevaeh Mordecai, Ja'niyah Ford, James Lyles Jr and Ja'neazha Lyles; long time friend, Wanda Proctor; (40) nieces and nephews, (23) great nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

His Viewing will be held on Monday, December 8, 2008, 10:00 a.m. until time of Service 12:00 noon at Thornton Funeral Home Chapel, 3439 Livingston Rd (State Route #227) Pomonkey, Maryland 20640. Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 4590 St. Joseph's Way, Pomfret, Maryland 20675.
