James "Jim" Joseph McGuire, 61 of Piney Point, MD passed away September 25, 2020 at his home.

James was born on September 6, 1959 in Key West, Florida to the late William Earl McGuire and to Mary Lucille (Tucker) McGuire.

James served in the U.S. Army from 1977 to 1981 when he was honorably discharged. He was employed at St. Mary's College of Maryland as Capital Project Manager for over 20 years until his retirement in 2019. He earned a Bachelor's in Business Administration while working at the college.

Jim enjoyed being on the water, fishing and spending time on his boat. He loved to spend time in Western Maryland, during hunting season. He liked to work on cars, motorcycles, hot-rodding and auto mechanics.

James is survived by his children, Joseph McGuire Sr. (Brandie) of Mascot, VA; Jennifer McGuire of St. Inigoes, MD and John McGuire of Leonardtown, MD; his siblings, Cheryl Johns (Cecil) of Hawthorne, FL; John McGuire of Driggs, ID and William "Bill" McGuire of Melrose, FL and two grandchildren Joseph William "Will" McGuire Jr. and Felicity Lee McGuire and his mother Mary Lucille Smith of Palatka, FL. He was preceded in death by his father.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 8, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a Funeral Service at 6:00 p.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
