On August 21, 2020, Frankie Lee Anderson transitioned peacefully with his family at his bedside at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital at the age of 56. He was born April 4, 1964, in Washington, DC to the late Doretha Anderson-Woodland and James Anderson, Sr.; however, he was raised by the late James Woodland, Jr.

Frankie attended McDonough High School and graduated in 1983. He was on the wrestling team and was an avid football player under the leadership former Coach Larry Johnson Sr.

Frankie enjoyed playing lottery numbers, going to casinos, giving fatherly advice to anyone, even when not asked. He loved entertaining people, making his famous potato salad, sweet potato pies and corn pudding; eating coconut cake and making jokes. It was either "his way or the highway" and if you couldn't get right you had better "Get it together!" Frankie was a jack of all trades and master of none. If he didn't know how to help, he always knew someone who could. The one thing he loved most of all was his grandchildren, GG, Jay, Lee Lee, and his late-night snack buddies Khen Khen and Duke.

Frankie got his first job in 1981 at K-mart as a Loss Prevention detective where he met and fell in love with his co-worker Carolyn Wills at the age of 17. One ride home down Hawthorne Road and many nights in the snow on a payphone turned into 37 years – a lifetime together.

Frankie was a truck driver for 20 years at Catterton Printing & Automatic Graphic Design. He also had his own companies Anderson and Anderson Moving and Moonlight Printing, which later turned into Home Improvement, and Lawncare and Automotive and HVAC. Anything you needed just ask, he was the only man with a double-sided business card filled with all the things he claimed he did but really watched and supervised others.

Frankie gave his life to the Lord at a young age and became a member of New Samaritan Baptist Church located in NE Washington, DC. He later joined Zion Baptist Church in Hilltop, Maryland and served the Lord for over 20 years under the leadership of Pastor William A. Thorpe. While serving at Zion, Frankie sang in the Willis S. Walls male choir and served as an ordained Deacon. Frankie later moved his membership and found his new and final church home at Healing Place located in Waldorf, Maryland where he was led by Pastor Maurice Diggs.

Frankie leaves behind his beloved wife Carolyn Anderson, two daughters LaRhonda Wills and Ashley Anderson, his grandchildren, Jasmine Swann, Jayvon Swann, Khailiyah Williams, Khennedi Williams and Kyce Williams. Two God sons Calvin Baker, Jr. and Deondrae Taylor. His sister Dorinda Hunter and brother-in-law Curtis Hunter, his Brother James Anderson and sister-in-law Shirley Anderson. His and Carolyn's ride-or-die traveling partner Gale Fenwick. His sister-in-law Shirel Lucas, a very special niece LaTashia Baker, who when family and guest were not allowed to visit kept a close watch over her uncle, and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and many, many family and friends.

Frankie's homegoing service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020 at New Life Church (9690 Shepherds Creek Place, LaPlata, MD 20646). Visitation from 10 AM until time of service at 12 noon.
