With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Frances (Teeny) Lorraine Garton Gehrt, age 76. She was born October 24, 1943 and returned to her heavenly home on August 2, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Clifford Frank Gehrt.

She grew up in Ecorse, Michigan and was an active volunteer/member of her local church and The Salvation Army. She mentioned numerous times throughout her life how much The Salvation Army impacted her positively and supported her family in their time of need. It remained sacred to her throughout her adult life and took up a very special place in her heart. Growing up she was a majorette and a member of her school's synchronized swimming team. She was also an outstanding member of her church choir, and was very proud of those accomplishments.

She was a very loving and giving wife and mother who was always present and active in her four childrens' lives. A kind soul, she always put others first and was quick to help others whenever she was able. Her interests included family, gardening, sewing, puzzles, crafting, antiquing, and watching her television shows. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Mrs. Gehrt is survived by her sisters, Mary Bates, Gloria Scott, Joyce Medved, Pearl Medved, and brother Ricky Garton; sons Brian Gehrt and Brandon Gehrt (Sonja Gehrt); daughters Kimberly Savoy and Crystal Mick (Derek Mick); and grandchildren Mark, Zachary, and Zoe. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Garton; brothers Billy Garton and Jack Garton; sisters Carolyn Dixon and Nancy Bates; and grandchildren Brandi and Christopher.

Funeral services will be held at Huntt Funeral Home in Waldorf, Maryland on Wednesday, August 12th at 10:30 a.m. She will be interred in eternal peace along side her husband at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, Maryland at 2:00 p.m. There is no reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or The Salvation Army in her honor.
