Joseph Clem Abell, 88, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on August 8, 2020 at Chesapeake Shores Nursing Center in Lexington Park, MD.

He was born on March 13, 1931 in Leonardtown, MD on the family farm to the late William J. Abell and Jane Roseanna Norris Abell.

Joseph loved living on the family farm in Leonardtown, MD and spending time working with his siblings and the farm animals. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Leonardtown, MD.

In addition to his niece, Sarah R.A. Scruggs of Mechanicsville, MD he is also survived by his many other nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings: William Joseph Abell, Sarah Anna Russell, Thelma Downs, Richard Abell, Jack Abell, Gladys Quade, and Madalene Darnell.

Family will receive friends on Friday, August 14, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 10:30 a.m., at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Cemetery.
