Donald Lenard Moore, 80, of Mechanicsville, MD departed this life on Thursday, August 6, 2020 with his wife by his side at Sagepoint Senior Living.

He was born on April 28, 1940 in Hillside, MD. He was the son of the late Wirtie Zoller Moore and Pearl Rebecca (Posey) Moore.

Don met the love of his life, Ethel "Vicki" Mae Stauffer when he was a young man and knew instantly she was meant to be his other half. They married on November 9, 1963 and were married for over fifty-six (56) years. He would happily tell you the best decision he ever made was changing Vicki's last name to Moore and raising a family with his best friend.

Don was a hard-working, self-made man who ran his own small business. He worked in Sales and Trucking. He enjoyed working hard and especially with his trucks. Although he was happy to retire in 2004, he still tinkered with his own prized cars.

Classic cars and an appreciation of smooth lines, Don treasured his car collection. An active member of the Southern Knights Rod & Custom Car Club. Don was happy to offer a helping hand. The only thing he loved more than his cars was his family. A devoted husband, father and grandfather his love for his family will always be remembered. He will be missed by many but none as much as his family.

Don is survived by his wife, Vicki Moore of Mechanicsville, MD; daughters, Loree Moore LaPorte (Randy) of Hollywood, MD, and Donna Moore of Mechanicsville, MD; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Gagnon (Jessica) and Nicolas Gagnon (Alexis). He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Verda Moore.

Family will receive friends for a Don's Visitation on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a Funeral service at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Steve Humphrey from Mt.
