Stephanie Lynn Edwards, 65, of Lexington Park, MD passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown, MD surrounded by her loving children.

Born on June 21, 1954 to the late Warren Eugene Carruth and Gertrude Mae Clements Carruth, she is a 1973 graduate of Suitland High School. She was employed for over 30 years with the department of the Navy as a dedicated and thorough administrative assistant at NAVAIR Patuxent River until her retirement in 2016.

She was an excellent cook and hosted many holiday and family dinners. Among her specialties were lasagna, meatloaf, scalloped potatoes, and macaroni salad. Her favorite people called her, "MeMe," and she loved spending as much time with her grandchildren as she could as her family was her greatest joy. Her hobbies included camping locally with family and friends, birdwatching, enjoying her coffee, crocheting and knitting hats and scarves, and cheering on the Washington Redskins and Capitals.

Stephanie is survived by her children: Samuel "Sammy" Lee Craddock of Mechanicsville, MD, Carrie Anne Kelly (Michael) of Lusby, MD, and Robert "Bobby" Douglas Edwards (Shalena) of Columbia, SC; her brother, Daniel Carruth of Mechanicsville, MD, her sister in laws: Peggy Carruth of Hollywood MD and Sheri Carruth of Brandywine MD; her grandchildren: Alex Craddock, Nickolas Kelly, Matthew Kelly, and one on the way, Walker Casey Edwards. In addition to her parents, Stephanie is also preceded in death by her brothers Robert Lee Carruth and John Carruth.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., with a private service celebrated at 2:00 p.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens.
