Melvin Jerome Price, Sr. "Mack", 57 of Clements, MD, passed away peacefully at his home on May 8, 2020. Melvin was born on March 11, 1963 in Leonardtown, MD to the late James Harrison Price, Sr. (Squirrel) and Mary Juanita Price Chase. He was educated through the St. Mary's County school system and graduated from Chopticon High School in 1980. Melvin was always a dedicated, hard worker. As a young man, he worked many years in the tobacco fields and doing brick work with Dean Guy Masonry, Fenwick's Masonry, and B&W Masonry. Melvin took great pleasure in entertaining family and friends; always ready for a cookout or family gathering. He was quick-witted and always had a funny, sarcastic remark with a smile that would light up the room, especially when the Redskins were winning. The family could rely on Melvin to do the dirty work like clean fish, grind sausages, and skin wild game. Melvin supported many functions at Our Lady of the Wayside Church in Chaptico, MD. You could always find him at the grill or cooking oysters at the Apple Festivals and lots of sausages during the Shrove Tuesday dinners. Melvin is survived by his mother, Juanita, his son, Melvin Jerome Price, Jr, daughter, Shelita Somerville; grandchildren, Tyresha, Tyreke, Najae, Zaire, Zyah, Nevaeh, Zyona, Scencer, and Solomon; six brothers, Xavier (Arlene), James (Paulette), Francis, Windell (Renee), Timmy, and Ricky, and two sisters, Alfrita and Carol; aunts Eleanor Young, Hilda Myers (Louis), Helen Johnson, Lillian Fenwick, and Ann Bowman; nieces/nephews Temekia, LT, Karena, Lakesha, Latesha, Tanicia, JW, and Alexis; great nieces/nephews Keddryck, Dnajysha, Camryn, Jaden, Bryon, Alenah, Autumun, and Aubrey, and a host of cousins and friends whom he absolutely adored, especially the Crossroad Crew!
