Nancy Jeanne Tayman died unexpectedly at her home in Brandywine on April 25th at the age of 81.

She was born and grew up in the District of Columbia where her parents, Frank and Anna Miller, operated a popular cafeteria of the day called the Dining Room. She was an honors student and graduated from Anacostia High School. Nancy became a devoted wife and mother who finished the Washington Post crossword everyday and who loved to watch game shows and old movies with her husband. She also enjoyed cooking and gardening in her large backyard.

She leaves behind her husband of 65 years, Kenneth Tayman, her three children Kathy Burch, Steven Tayman (Caroline), and Michael Tayman (Laura), as well as four grandchildren, two sisters, Sally Thompson of Marietta, GA and Joan Jenkins of Columbia, SC, and a brother Thomas Miller of Utah.

No public services or memorials will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hyacinth's Place, a program that provides affordable housing with comprehensive therapeutic and social re-integration services, at 1060 Bladensburg Road, NE, Washington, DC 20002.
