John Meredith Miller, "Johnny," 77 of Hollywood, Md., formerly from Marshalltown Iowa, passed away on April 22, 2020. He was born on August 27, 1942 in Denver, Colorado, and was the son of the late Gail Margaret Cole Miller and Ralph Miller. John was the loving husband of Barbara June Miller whom he married on September 14, 1963 at the Lexington Park United Methodist Church. He is also survived by his son John Miller Jr., of Hollywood, Md., and his two sisters Charity Paglia of Missouri, and Nancy of Marshalltown, Iowa. He is preceded in death by his brother Lawrence Miller.

Following John's graduation from Marshalltown Highschool, he enlisted in the Navy on October 31, 1960, Marshalltown Iowa. During his service in the Navy, he was stationed on the USS Bennington, the USS Coral Sea, and at the Naval Aircraft Station in Lemoore California where he worked as an aircraft engine mechanic. In 1964 John moved from Lemoore California to Hollywood Maryland, where he was stationed at the Patuxent Naval Air Station until October 30. 1966. Following his service in the Navy John joined the Navy Reserves on April 1, 1973 where he was an Aircraft Pneudraulic Systems Mechanic Leader for 23 years leading to his retirement on September 1, 1990.

In his retirement John truly loved spending time with his dogs, watching western movies, and mowing his lawn.
