On Saturday, November 8, 2008, Ernest S. Dorsey, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather was called home. Ernest was born on November 13, 1939 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late John Spencer and the late Evangeline Dorsey of Charles County, Maryland.

Ernest was educated in Charles County Public Schools. He was a hard working man who was employed by the Waste Management Company retiring in 1997. His hobbies were joking around and listening to James Brown while dancing. He was united in marriage on June 1, 1959 to the former Geraldine Butler.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife; Geraldine Dorsey of LaPlata, Maryland, four daughters; Evangela Kearney of Washington, D.C., Vearline Turcios of LaPlata, Maryland, Cynthia Dorsey of Ladysmith, Virginia and Sharon Baines of Bladensburg, Maryland; three sons; Ronnie and Roger Dorsey of Washington, D.C., and Joseph Dorsey of Quantico, Virginia; sister, Dorothy Johnson, three sons-in-law, Jerome Dickerson, Miguel Turcios and Michael Baines, one daughter-in-law, fifteen grandsons, four granddaughters, one great-grandson, one great-granddaughter, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

His viewing will take place on Thursday, November 13th, 10:00a.m. until time of service, 11:00a.m. at Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., Rte. 227, 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, MD. Interment Heritage Memorial Cemetery, Waldorf, MD.
