![]() Andrew Roger Brown, 83, of Ridge, MD, son of the late Roger and Cora Brown, was born on January 20, 1925 in Ridge, MD. Andrew departed this life on November 12, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown, MD.
Andrew attended school in St. Mary's County public schools. He was a life-long resident and dedicated member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. He was a self taught carpenter, who assisted in the building of his first home. He was skilled at automotive repair and enjoyed working on cars. November 1945 at the age of 20 years old, Andrew started employment with the Federal Government at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Andrew retired in July 1980 after 35 years of distinguished service. On November 4, 1946 Andrew was united in matrimony with Isabel Veronica Chase at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church at the tender age of 21. Andrew enjoyed helping people in need; he was a friendly, kind hearted and soft spoken person. He enjoyed football, basketball and baseball. Andrew was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan. He loved traveling to games to watch his sons, nephews and grandchildren play sports. He really enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, working in the yard and going fishing with Joseph "Fatman" Harris. Andrew was a dedicated Christian who loved attending church worship and was an active member of the church choir. This gave him a real sense of accomplishment and pride. Andrew leaves to cherish his memories; his children; Jerome R. Chase, (Sharon), Dorothy Gant, (Bobby), Andrew V. Brown, (Karen), Ann V. Brown-Mickens, (Charles), Leonard S. Brown, (Darlene), Gloria J. Brown-Martin, (James), Marcia E. Brown-Loyd, Darlene M. Brown-Johnson, (William) and James D. Brown, (Gail). Sister; Hilda Billips. Also survived by 26 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents Andrew was predeceased by 2 two sister's and one brother, Hazel Harrel, Mildred Beal and Sylvester Brown. Family will receive friends for Andrew's Life Celebration on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 from 9am to 10am in St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 16922 St. Peter Claver Road, St. Inigoes, MD 20684. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10am with Father Scott Woods as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
