Walter C. Poswiatowski III, died on March 11, 2020 at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown, Maryland. He was born on July 21, 1930 in Baltimore, Maryland and was the son of Walter C. Poswiatowski, Jr. and Marie Poswiatowski (Wagner).

Walter was preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife, Jean L. Poswiatowski Astley); and two of his brothers, Richard and Ronald. He is survived by his sister, Rita Fitzgerald; his brother, Raymond; his daughters, Sandra J. Maroney (Michael), Donna M. Eckard (Milton), Barbara P. Hughes (Donald) and Sheila L. Burnette (James); as well as his son, Walter C. Poswiatowski, IV. Walter and Jean were proud grandparents of eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a loving, supportive, caring, dedicated, and loyal person. As a young boy, he delivered newspapers to help support his family. As soon as he was old enough, he dropped out of school to join the Air Force. He sent most of his check home to support his parents and siblings. While abroad, he met his one true love, Jean. They married in Burtonwood, England. He continued to serve his country for another 22 years as a government employee.

After retiring from the government, he loved working as an electronics teacher in Charles County at Stethem Vocational School. The students affectionately called him "Mr. P." During his 10 years of teaching electronics, his students placed first at regional levels, VICA for eight of those years and continued to national levels VICA. In his spare time, he worked with REACT, a community volunteer organization. He was also Assistant Civil Defense Director for Charles County.

Visitation on Monday, March 23, 2020 from 10AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:30AM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Interment to follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, Maryland 20623. Memorial contributions on Walter's name are asked to Colorectal Cancer Alliance, 1025 Vermont Avenue, NW, Suite 1066, Washington, DC 20005.
