A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2006 at 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel, Leonardtown, MD with Rev. Sheldon Reese officiating. Interment will follow in Joy Chapel Cemetery.

Viewing/Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2006 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where the Eastern Star Service will be held at 3:00 PM.

Mildred Hester Joy Crichfield, 86, of Lakeland, FL formerly of Hollywood, MD died November 20, 2006 in Lakeland, FL. Born March 20, 1920 in Hollywood, MD she was the daughter of the late Ernest McClellan and Mary Lena Gatton Joy. He was preceded in death by her husband Merlyn Rupert Crichfield whom she married on August 5, 1940 in Leonardtown, MD. She is survived by her siblings: Juanita Buchanan, Joyce Remmel, Elwood Joy, Marvin M. Joy and Arnold Joy all of Hollywood, MD. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Eunice Gatton, Herbert W. Joy and Marion Joy. Ms. Crichfield attended Great Mills High School. She was a member of the order of Eastern Star and The Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 26, 2006 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where the Eastern Star Service will be held at 3:00 PM.
