Barbara Anne Kennedy Fenwick, 78, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on February 23, 2020. Barbara was born on December 21, 1941 in Baltimore City, Maryland to the late Louis Edward Kennedy and Octavia Nora White Kennedy. She was number four of eight siblings in a close-knit and loving family. Barbara received her education in St. Mary's County, Maryland.

Shortly thereafter, Barbara began her career in the medical field where she obtained her nursing certification in 1963. She worked for St. Mary's Hospital and Americana Nursing Home until leaving to begin her extensive career at Prince George's Hospital Center where she was an Operating Room Technician. After 33 years of service in the medical field she retired in 1997. Barbara was a devoted and loyal mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Barbara loved spending quality time with family, traveling, laughing, playing and reminiscing about fond memories from the past.

Barbara is preceded in death by her late father, Louis Edward Kennedy Sr. and mother, Octavia Nora White Kennedy, husband, John G. Fenwick, Sr.; two sisters, Marie Biviens, and Lucy Bradshaw and one brother, Robert Kennedy. Barbara leaves to cherish her memory six children: John, Jr., Deborah, James (Violet), Anthony (Lisha), Kevin, and Barbara; six siblings, Delores, Edward (Marie), Kimmit, Richard (Sandra), Ralph, and Howard (Lorraine); one step sister, Ida Harris and one sister-in-law, (Saundra Fenwick). She was also blessed to have 17 grandchildren, Dontae, Marcus, Kisha, Ebony, LaShawn, Raymond, Chucky, Shannon, Anthony Jr., Sterlin, Kevin Jr., Tyshirra, Mario, Kilisa, Carlos, Kimberleigh, and Johnathon, 22 great grandchildren, two devoted friends, Terri McKoy, and Michelle Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Family and friends will unite on Saturday, February 29, 2020 for visitation at 9 am until time of service at 11 am at Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home, 38576 Brett Way, Mechanicsville, MD. Reverend Roderick McClanahan will be officiating. Interment to follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.
