On November 6th, John H. Quirk, IV, beloved husband of Maryanne, and beloved father of John, died of cancer, surrounded by loved ones in his home, at the age of 60.

He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, to the late John and Marian Quirk and lived in Virginia, Georgia, Korea and California during his Army career. John and his family moved to Waldorf, Maryland, 25 years ago.

He received his Bachelor's Degree from Canisius College and his Masters from Pepperdine University in California. After active duty he worked for the Department of the Army at Army Research Lab and then at Ft. Myer, Virginia.

He is survived by his wife, of 37 years, Maryanne, and their son John H. Quirk, V. He is also survived by sisters, Christine of Pennsylvania and Teresa of Florida and brothers, Michael of Maryland and Thomas of New York. John was involved in Marriage Encounter, Boy Scouts of America, Little League, and with his parish, Our Lady Help of Christians. John had many accomplishments, but most of all, he will be remembered as a man who was a devoted husband, father, family member and friend.

Friends and relatives are invited to a Mass of Celebration at Our Lady Help of Christians on Saturday, November 15th and for a reception following in the social hall. A full honor military funeral will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
