Douglas "Doug" Edmond Flibbert, age 75, of Waldorf, Maryland was welcomed with open arms from his son, Matthew, on February 2, 2020. Doug proudly served in the United States Air Force and Air National Guard from the age of 18 until his retirement at age 55. He served both active duty and civilian. His job allowed him to see just about every state. It wasn't until he passed that his family became aware that he received numerous accolades, plaques, medals, and awards. He was a proud man and didn't feel the need to exploit his honors.

Even though Doug moved from the state of Maine when he was young, he did long to be close to his family and after his retirement, he and his wife bought a home (Camp) which they renovated on beautiful Sheepscott Lake. They spent spring and summers in Maine where they were able to spend time with friends and family. They would have a lot of lobster fests with his sister, Jane and brother-in-law, Mike. When Doug was not in Maine, he would spend a lot of time with his best friend, Carl, fishing and crabbing. Doug loved watching TV and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was the son of Carl E. Flibbert and Geraldine A. Boutin Flibbert. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Matthew J. Flibbert. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia Louise Jones Flibbert; his daughters, Lisa Ann Anderson and husband Joseph and Carla Jean Poole; his sister, Jane Trepanier and husband, Mike; and his grandchildren, Taylor, Kylie, Jacob, Abigayle, and Jolie.

Visitation on Friday, February 7, 2020 from 9AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 3320 St. Peter's Drive, Waldorf, Maryland 20601. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions in Doug's name are asked to Make A Wish Mid-Atlantic, Inc., 6555 Rock Spring Drive, Suite 280, Bethesda, MD 20817.
