Richard "Rich" Earl Perkins passed away February 1, 2020 at 11:55PM surrounded by his loved ones. He was born September 7, 1949 in Roanoke, Virginia to Sylvia Whelling. He married Olivia Wilson on May 10, 1974. He was a police officer for the DC Police Department from 1970-1990. Upon retiring from the police department, he worked for Glock, Inc. from 1990-2009. He loved spending time with his family as well as fishing, hunting, crabbing, and target shooting. You could always find him woodworking and driving his Kabota.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Olivia Perkins; his son, Jason Perkins; his daughters, April Perkins (David Wroblewski) and Katey Herron (Matt); and his grandchildren, Olivia Lynn McKenzie, Shelbie Lynn Lloyd, Jacob Colyn Lloyd, Alyssa Lynn Herron, Emma Lynn Herron, and Jackson Colyn Lloyd.

Visitation on Friday, February 7, 2020 from 10AM until time of Funeral Service at 12:30PM at New Life Wesleyan Church, 9690 Shepherd's Creek Place, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Interment to follow in Wesleyan Memorial Gardens (church cemetery). Memorial contributions are asked to the Kidney Foundation.
