Joseph Thomas "Joe" Connolly, 78, of Solomons, MD formerly of Manassas Park and Springfield, VA passed away on November 6, 2008 at his residence. He was born June 28, 1930 in Trenton, NJ to the late Leo and Jane McLaughlin Connolly.

He was the beloved husband of Rose D. Connolly.

Joe graduated from Rutgers University with a BS degree in Business Administration and went on to work for the Internal Revenue Service as a Computer Programmer until his retirement. He was an avid lover of music, languages, electronics and computers.

Joe is survived by his wife Rose D. Connolly of Solomons, MD; children, Carol Connolly of Valley Lee, MD , and Charles Connolly of Falls Church, VA; and siblings, Jane Zander and James "Jim" Connolly both of NJ.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 10, 2008 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM with a prayer service at 7PM in the Rausch Funeral Home Chapel, Lusby, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 12 PM in Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Solomons, MD. Interment will follow in the Holy Face Catholic Cemetery, Great Mills, MD.

The family request memorial contributions to be made to the Asbury Benevolent Care Fund, 11100 Asbury Circle, Solomons, MD 20688.
