![]() On Thursday, October 30, 2008, Faye Cordia Proctor of Indian Head, Maryland quietly departed this life for one eternal.
Faye was the daughter of the late Irene Elizabeth Proctor and the late Ulysses Bowman. She was born in Charles County, Maryland on January 15, 1956. She was a lifetime resident of Charles County having attended the local schools and graduated from Lackey High School. She worked for the Department of Air Force, Andrews Air Force Base, Camp Springs, Maryland for thirteen years until her declining health forced her to retire. She also worked at the Pentagon for a season and for the Maryland Independent Newspaper. Faye truly enjoyed cooking for her family, especially during the holiday seasons. She would insist you have a bite to eat. She enjoyed listening to Gospel music on Sundays and watching TV. One of her favorite shows was "Touched By An Angel." She would also spend time completing crossword puzzles. She will be remembered for speaking her mind, often saying phrases such as "what part you missed and I don't have no cut card." She also had a great sense of humor and a "down to earth" personality. In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her sisters, Cindy Jane and Carla Proctor; brother Carl Bowman; grandparents, Robert Sherman Proctor and Jane A. Keys Proctor; brother-in-law, Gregory James Keys; aunts, Elaine Proctor Jones and Christine Proctor; uncles, Jerome "Shoemaker" Proctor, Roland Proctor, Horace "Billy" Proctor, Robert Proctor, James Proctor and John Proctor. Left to cherish many memories are her children, Roger James Butler, William Brown, Felicia Michelle Proctor, Alicia Marie Thomas and Lolita Iona Butler; thirteen grandchildren; long time companion and special friend, Stanley Jordan; son-in-law, Gordon Thomas II; daughter-in-law, Lanette Butler; sister, Janice Keys; brother, Robert Bowman (Sam); sister-in-law, Elaine Bowman; aunts, Lillian Proctor, Shirley Bowie, Mary Proctor, Louise Bernadette Proctor; uncles, August Proctor, Alfred Proctor and Richard Bowie, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Her viewing will take place on Thursday, November 6th, 10:00a.m. until time of service 11:00a.m. at Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., Rte. 227, 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, MD 20640.
