Norma Gloria (Kinnamont) Smith, age 88, died peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2020 in La Plata, Maryland. She was born on October 3, 1931 in Washington, DC and she spent her life devoted to raising and supporting her own family as well as caring for countless other children as a preschool teacher and long-term child care provider. Throughout the 1980's and 1990's, she volunteered her time at St. John the Evangelist School in Clinton, Maryland. She loved to spend her weekends camping, driving around Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, and visiting her grandchildren. She was an avid fan of the University of Maryland basketball team. Her feisty demeanor and clever wit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Harry Eugene; her three children, Jean (Hoff) Burke and husband Ron, Joe Hoff and wife Amy, and Joy (Hoff) Cefaratti and husband Frank; and her step-daughter Marie Duvall. She was also the beloved grandmother of eight grandchildren, Michael, Joseph, Rebecca, Jason, Jonathan, Mark, Amanda, and Erin; four great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Aidan, Kennedi, and AnnaMaria; and six nieces and nephews, Patsy, Connie, Jeannie, Joe, Jake, and Jim.

Visitation on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 10:30AM until time of Funeral Service at 12PM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Interment to follow at 1PM at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, Maryland 20623. Memorial contributions in Norma's name are asked to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (Memorial & Honor Program), 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
