Sheila Ruth Swann, 68, of Newburg, MD passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 31, 2019. She was born December 8, 1951 in Baltimore, MD to the late Charles R. Parks and Doris M. Parks. Sheila married the love of her life Robert Allen Swann on June 9, 1979. They had thirty-four (34) years together before his passing on April 26, 2012.

Sheila was a wonderful wife, sister, daughter, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Sheila loved her family and making memories that will last forever. Sheila enjoyed vacations to the beach, trips to Skyline Drive, Luray Caverns, and most importantly spending time with her family. She loved playing horseshoes, bowling, slot machines, and in her down time would write poems.

Sheila had a heart of gold, and loved her family unconditionally. Her smile and laugh would light up any room. Sheila was an amazing mother, terrific grandmother, and exceptional great-grandmother. Sheila was a sweet a person as her favorite candy, which was chocolate covered cherries. Sheila will be missed by many, especially the family she is leaving behind, but the memories she left can never be replaced.

Sheila is survived by her children, Dena Marie Parks of Mechanicsville, MD, Lisa Michelle Vieira (Michael) of Tabor City, NC and Karen Ann Swann of Newburg, MD; four (4) grandchildren and two (2) great-grandchildren. She also is survived by several siblings, Deborah Cook of Ridge, MD, Norma Jean Grigsbsy (Jimmy) of LaPlata, MD, and Charles Parks, Jr., of Mechanicsville, MD. Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brother and sister, Gary Parks and Brenda Testerman.

The family will receive friends for Sheila's Visitation on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 100 Village Street, Waldorf, MD 20602 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow immediately at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601. Arrangements by the Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., Charlotte Hall, MD.
