Rose Mary (Adams) Smith, of Valley Lee, MD was born on June 2, 1935 and passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at home with her family by her side. She died after a very long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Malvin Adams Sr, and Alice Marie Shorter Adams, and her infant son, Robert Steven Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Dayton (Smitty) Smith, whom she met while in the Navy and stationed at PAX River. They met on the beach in Piney Point. He won her heart and they were married on September 4, 1953. They celebrated 66 years of marriage together.

Rosemary retired as a bookkeeper from Stewarts Petroleum in Piney Point, MD after 32 years of dedicated service. She was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church in Valley Lee, Md, a member of the Vestry, and Superintendent for the Sunday School for 13 years. She worked at the many church dinners. Rosemary was A Past Worthy Matron (the highest honor) of the Order of Eastern Star Julia Halla Chapter 107, in Hollywood MD. She enjoyed working and being with all her children and grandchildren.

Rosemary enjoyed sports and was an avid bowler. She and Smitty bowled on a league for Piney Point for many fun years. She enjoyed traveling with Smitty. Once retired, they spent their winter months in Florida where she enjoyed the warm weather. Rosemary was a very good cook and hosted all the holiday dinners and Sunday dinners for her family. One of her specialties was her delicious homemade pineapple upside down cake. Rosemary was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.

Rosemary is survived by her brothers, William Malvin Adams (Francine) of Mechanicsville, MD, Lyn Henderson of Valley Lee, MD, and her sister, Marie (Henderson) Schwagler of OnAlaska, WA. Her children: Yvonne Smith Gamble of Plantation, FL, Robert "Scott" Smith (Earlene) of Valley Lee, MD, and Douglas W. Smith (Candi) of Valley Lee, MD.

Her grandchildren: Charles (Rob) Clements, Derrick Gamble, Robyn Gamble, Robert (Bobby) Petrzala (Kathleen), Adam Smith (Jenny), Dayton Smith (Watsana) and Arlin Smith. And SIX Great Grandchildren: Kylie Roden, Peyton Roden, Colin Smith, Tina Smith, Lilly Jacobson, and Lincoln Petrzala.

The family will receive friends for Rosemary's Life Celebration on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, with a 7pm prayer service, at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. A Funeral Service will be celebrated by Reverend Greg Sylar on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 11:00am at St. George's Episcopal Church, 49167 Poplar Hill Lane, Valley Lee, MD 20692. Interment immediately following in the church cemetery.
