Mildred May "Mickey" Stone Snyder, 84, died on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at Calvert Memorial Hospital in Prince Frederick, Maryland.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 22, 1922, she was the wife of the late Charles Edwin "Bud" Snyder and the daughter of the late Harry J. Stone and Edith May Fries Olchaskey. She was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, needlework and staying involved with her family and friends. Mrs. Snyder was raised in Philadelphia and lived primarily in that area until moving to Brandywine, MD in 1963, where she lived for nearly 40 years. While in Brandywine, "Mickey" was involved in many community activities as well as at her children's schools, Brandywine Elementary and Gwynn Park High School. She and her late husband helped found the Gwynn Park High School Athletic Boosters. She supported her husband in the Brandywine Lions, the Brandywine North Keys Civic Association and the Charles County Radio Control Club. In October 2002, Mrs. Snyder moved with her husband to Asbury Solomons Retirement Community in Solomons, Maryland where she resided until her death. Survivors include her son Robert C. Snyder and his wife Mary Snyder of Hughesville, MD, daughter Nancy C. Blizzard and son-in-law Michael Blizzard of La Plata, MD, grandchildren Jessica Blizzard, Robert Blizzard, Jeremy Snyder and Jessica Jolliffe. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 2PM at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. 30195 Three Notch Road Charlotte Hall, Maryland. Interment will be private. |
