![]() Ronnie Lee Turner, 70, of Waldorf, MD, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008, at his home.
Mr. Turner was a retired machinist mate (E-7) with the United States Navy, having served from 1957 through 1977. Following his Navy service, he was a driver for many years with Murray Steaks, Hanns Fuel, Anchor Motor Freight, Joyce Beverage and Bevard Trucking in Clinton, MD. He was a member of the American Legion, Waldorf, MD, and the Fleet Reserve. He enjoyed working on cars, gardening, and sightseeing. Born April 15, 1938, in Casey, IL, he was the son of the late Oliver Turner and the late Flo Cooper Turner. Predeceased by his parents; sister, Betty Rogers; and brothers, Robert and Larry Turner. Survived by his wife, Betty Jo Turner; daughters, Rhonda M. Snyder and her husband, Jeff of GA, Tina L. Turner of Bryans Road, MD; sons, Michael L. Turner and his wife Linda of La Plata, MD and Ronald A. Turner and his wife Karen of Lothian, MD. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 6, 2008, 2-4PM and 6-8PM, at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD. Funeral Service will be held Friday, November 7, 2008, 1:30PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel. Pastor Rob Greene will officiate. Pallbearers will be Michael and Ronald Turner, Jeff Snyder, Jimmy Holder, Everett Parker, and Mark Gwynn. Honorary Pallbearers will be United States Navy Honor Guard. Interment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD. Arrangements provided by Raymond Funeral Service. |
