Wayne Francis Dyer, 63, of La Plata, Maryland departed from this life, unexpectantly, on November 29, 2019. Born to Francis Dyer and Charlotte Dent–Dyer on July 16, 1956 in La Plata, Maryland. Wayne went on to be educated in the Charles County Public School System, eventually graduating from Lackey High School in 1977. After graduating, Wayne went on to join the Army National Guard where he served for four years until being honorably discharged. Always the hard worker, Wayne went on to hold various jobs. The most enjoyable was his job at Casey Jones where he worked for over 20 years. Wayne's stern outward appearance was no match to his gentle spirit.

Wayne enjoyed football, more specifically, he loved the Dallas Cowboys and oftentimes would engage in lighthearted banter regarding his favorite football team. You could find him late nights at Denny's or Checkers' Drive–Thru. He loved playing cards with his son, Tyrell, and his close friend, Gloria Gross. He loved watching Maury – but more importantly he loved working and was never one to sit around too much.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Charlotte; brothers, Ronald Dent and Michael Dyer; and sister Barbette Dyer. Wayne leaves to cherish his children, Teresa Hemsley, Reneaka, LaKisha, Tyrell, Nakita , and Devon Dyer; his grandchildren, Shamond Hatton, Shynika Brooks, Deja and Antonio Bobo Jr., Dionte and Ayana Shorter, Lyric and Xavior Dyer, and Tyquan Dyer. He also leaves to cherish his memory his sisters, Shirley Middleton (James), Brenda Dyer, Sheila Dyer, Joe Ann Dyer, and Barbara Sykes; his brothers, Alphonso Dent (Francine), Tyrone and Jeffrey Dyer; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8PM with a Memorial Service at 7PM on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646.
