Abigail "Abby" Marie Weinberg, 17, of La Plata, Maryland, was promoted to "Angel Status" on November 21, 2019. She was born on March 5, 2002 in Wichita Falls, Texas to David and Stephanie Weinberg (Papa & Mommy).

Abby was born with a rare genetic condition called Aicardi Goutieres Syndrome, where she never spoke a word, nor was she ever able to walk or care for herself. All of her life was encompassed with loving people providing 100% of her care. But, Oh! How she smiled! Papa and Mommy and older sister, Riley, always shared their adventures with her throughout their military journey around the U.S. from Texas to Illinois to Maryland. She enjoyed being out in nature, camping. She also loved kayaking, listening to her Papa sing to her while Riley would play the piano. Mommy took care of her medical needs and loved her like no other mother could love a special needs child.

Although Abby never spoke, her silent testimony was witnessed by thousands around the country, and she was loved by thousands more. Abby showed pure, unrivaled joy that so many others found in her innocent nature. Abby never knew sorrow. Abby never knew anger or frustration or stress. And everyone who met her was instantly changed for the better. We learned to re-prioritize our trivial things in life.

With Mommy holding her hand, she peacefully passed in the arms of her earthly father; and she immediately RAN into the arms of her Heavenly Father. She is now perfect! We know that there are no wheelchairs in heaven. Although we all deeply miss her, we pray that her unspoken ministry on this earth will continue to resonate with all those she touched.

Abby is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Steven Weinberg. She is survived by her parents, David and Stephanie Weinberg, her older sister, Riley Weinberg, paternal grandmother, Donna Brown, maternal grandparents, Larry and Cheryl Campbell, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins across the U.S.

Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00am on Wednesday, November 27th with her celebration of life service beginning at 11:00am at Grace Lutheran Church's Family Life Center, 1200 Charles Street, La Plata, MD. Following the service at 1:00pm, a meal and fellowship will be held at First Baptist Church of Waldorf, 10045 Bunker Hill Rd., Waldorf, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Abby's honor to www.agsamericas.org. Abby will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery at a date to be determined later.
