Hugh "Butch" H. Clower, Sr., of Chesapeake Beach, MD, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at the age of 78. Butch was born on February 13, 1941 in Takoma Park, MD to Virginia [Clatterbuck] and Frank Clower. He was a veteran having served as an Airman in the U.S. Air Force. After his military service, he worked with the Prince Georges Fire Department, retiring as a Lieutenant in 1987, where he had served proudly as a firefighter and instructor for more than 20 years.

Butch had a passion for fishing, hunting, camping, crabbing, gardening and drinking beer. Butch loved his family and spent much of his free time coaching, mentoring and relaxing with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending his days on the beach looking at the water, taking a drive around town, or watching the Washington Redskins play. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile and his kind and compassionate spirit.

Butch was the beloved husband of Barbara "Bobbie" Ann [Lee] Clower and the loving father of John Mitchell Clower and his wife Julie [Hanko], Laura Lee [Clower] Garner and her husband Paul G. and the late Hugh "Butchy" Hilton Clower, Jr. He was the devoted grandfather of John Mitchell Clower, Jr., Devin Michael ad Mollie Brooke Garner.

Family invites friends to Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Thursday, November 14 from 4 to 8 pm; with Funeral Services on Friday, November 15 at 11 am. Interment will follow at George Washington Cemetery, 9500 Riggs Road, Adelphi, MD 20783. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Butch's name to Calvert Hospice, P O Box 838, Prince Frederick, MD 20678.
