Sandra McEwen Creighton, 79, of LaPlata, MD passed away on October 27, 2019 at her residence.

Born in Revere, MA on October 10, 1940 to the late George McEwen and Marie Rose McEwen, she is also preceded in death by her sister, Laura Finlay. Sandra is survived by her daughters, Stacey Colburn (Chris), Shannon Creighton and Samantha Creighton; sisters, Delores Howes and Francine McEwen; grandchildren, David John Crane, Jr. and Mia Alison Creighton; and great-grandchildren, King Grindle, David Crane and Vera Crane.

Sandra was a Museum Curator for the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. A devout catholic, she faithfully attended weekly mass at Sacred Heart Church. Sandra's interests were many. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, yoga, the beach, New England Patriots and was an adventurous soul who loved to travel. Above all she loved spending time with her family and will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (201 St. Mary's Ave., LaPlata, MD) on Thursday, October 31, 2019 from 9AM to 10AM; A Funeral Mass will begin at 10AM; Interment to follow in the Church Cemetery.
