Mike Robert Chopp, age 91, of La Plata, MD died on October 25, 2019 at his residence. Mike, born on August 27, 1928 in Bentleyville, PA, was a long-time resident of Charles County and a Veteran of the United States Air Force (First Lieutenant). He was the Owner and Construction Manager of Chopp & Company and a Pilot for TWA for many years. Mike was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and the Hawthorne Country Club. He was a fan of the University of Alabama Football team and enjoyed playing Bridge at the Clark Center in La Plata.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Anna Chopp; brothers, Charles, Jr, John, Anthony, and Joseph Chopp; and his sisters, Elizabeth Wright, Annie Reagan, and Helen Velky. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Armstead Chopp; two sons, Hale Armistead Chopp and Michael Todd Chopp; three daughters, Michelle S. Michaels, Melissa Blyne Zweifel, and Martha Chopp Clarke; six grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
