Marvin Winton Brown, 76, of California Maryland passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital on Thursday, October 23, 2008. Born April 14, 1932 in Bluefield, WV, he was the son of the late Roscoe and Luna Brown. At the age of six months, his family relocated to Crumpler, North Carolina. In 1952 Marvin relocated to Maryland to take employment. He was the loving husband of Billie Lou Brown whom he married on November 12, 1952 in Grassy Creek, NC. He served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954 where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Metal, and Army Occupation Medal. Following his service, he returned to Harford County, MD, where he worked for Bata Shoe Company, later opening his own television repair business. In 1974 he relocated his family to California, MD where he worked for 23 years as an electronics technician for the Department of the Navy. He was also a part-time bee keeper. In 1997 he took full retirement and enjoyed years of camping with his wife and faithful dog Luke. Later they took up part time residence in Silver Springs,Florida. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Rodney of Roanoke VA, Loren of Grant VA, and his sister Hazel Hudler of Atlanta GA. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Billie Lou Brown of California MD, his son Charles M. and his wife Deanna of Sparrows Point MD; and his son Russell D. of Compton MD. He is also survived by his five granddaughters; Jenny, Nichole, Riley, Bridget and Amanda. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Marie and Charlsie Brown. Family will receive friends in the Celebration of Marvin's Life on Sunday, October 26, 2008 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD. Funeral Services will be held at 10AM on Monday, October 27th, at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown MD.
