Mary Ann Clark, 89, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on October 7, 2019 at her home with her beloved husband at her side. She was born in Martinsburg, WV on November 6, 1929 to the late James Lynn Bayles and Myrtle V. Penwell.

On December 28, 1945, Mary married her beloved husband, Everett Scully Clark in Rockville, MD. Together, they celebrated over 75 wonderful years of marriage. She and her husband owned the 235 Diner in Mechanicsville, MD. She was a very active woman who enjoyed being with family and friends. Mary and Everett travelled to Maine with friends multiple times and enjoyed cruising the seas, one of their favorite destinations was the Bahamas. They also enjoyed road trips to Dover to play the slots and the beaches and lighthouses of Cape Hatteras.

Mary was a wonderful hostess and a talented cook; her specialties were Italian dishes, beef stew, fried chicken, mac-n-cheese, cookies, cake, pie, and bread pudding. She was a Chapter Angel and member of TOPS (Take off Pounds Sensibly) and KOPS (Keep off Pounds Sensibly) for 28 years. She had a love for cats especially her pet, Belle. In her spare time she enjoyed dancing, fishing, crabbing, boating, and a good game of Bingo, shuffleboard and horseshoes.

In addition to her beloved husband, Mary is also survived by her daughters: Nancy Ellen Clark (Mount) of Sterling, VA. Phyllis Jean Clark (Cox) of Edinburg, VA, Joan Marie Clark (Fraber) of Winchester, VA, and Judy Lynn Clark of Mechanicsville, MD; 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; and many extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her son, Kurt Donald Clark.

Family will receive friends for Mary's Life Celebration on Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, 3411 Arlington Blvd., Arlington, VA 22201.
