Marilyn Emily Grimes, 94, of White Plains, Maryland passed away on September 19, 2019 at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. Born on January 11, 1925 in Timberville, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Carrie Bayer Crist and Samuel Crist. A homemaker and mom, Mrs. Grimes enjoyed spending time with her family, especially during any events her grandchildren were involved in, including soccer, becoming a special part of the lives of Adalize and Connor, and rooting for the Washington Redskins.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Grimes was preceded in death by her husband Norman Grimes; son Sammy Grimes; grandson Little Sammy Grimes; six siblings. She is survived by her daughter Debra Shifflett; sons Freddy Grimes and Eddie Grimes; 14 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great great grandson.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 2PM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Interment will be private.
