George Bowen "Chick" Young, Jr., 62, of Ridge, MD died October 31, 2006 in Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC.

Born June 18, 1944 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late George Bowen Young, Sr. and Elfreda Lillian Lettau Young. Mr. Young had worked as a heavy equipment operator for Eastern Contractors.

He is survived by a sister, Frances Darlene Wood of Ridge, MD, and four brothers, Franklin B. "Dickie" Wood of Lusby, MD, Harry Eugene "Butch" Wood of Dameron, MD, John Garland Wood of California, MD and Robert Wayne Young of Jacksonville, FL. He was preceded in death by his sister, Elfreda Lillian Merritt.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 5, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the First Friendship United Methodist Church in Ridge, MD. Prayers will be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday, November 6, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in First Friendship United Methodist Church. Reverend Keith Schukraft will conduct the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
