Wanda Marie George, 83, of Dunkirk, passed away in Cheverly, MD on August 26, 2019. Wanda was born on January 3, 1936 in Morgan Run, PA to the late Creighton and Emma Walls Smeal. She had lived in Calvert County since 1961. Wanda was a homemaker who was also very invested in her children's activities. She participated in scouting and in sports. She was also a substitute teacher and a library aide. Wanda continued to enjoy gardening throughout her entire life. She had been a member of Smithville United Methodist Church.

Wanda is survived by her sons, Philip George of Dunkirk and Gregory (Chris) George of Caledonia, Michigan; daughters-in-law, Candace George of Reston, VA and Toni George of Chesapeake Beach, MD; brother, Ronald (Carol ) Smeal of Buffalo, New York; sister, Joyce (Victor) Lombardo of King George, VA; eight grandchildren and one great- granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Duane George and two sons, Alan and Daniel George.
