Joanne Mary Douglas, age 70, of LaPlata, Maryland went to be with our Lord on October 16, 2008 at Civista Medical Center in LaPlata. She was born June 22, 1938 in Washington, D.C., and raised in Suitland, MD.

She graduated from Suitland High School, and worked as a department manager at the Alabama Avenue and Waldorf Sears stores, retiring in 1996. She enjoyed having teas with her friends, and loved spending time with her family.

She was the dearly beloved sister of Gary Douglas (Sandy), loving aunt of Michael "Shane" (Erin) and Christian Douglas, and ecstatic great-aunt to adored nephews Sean, Logan and Ryan, . She will be remembered for her extraordinary heart, her constant thoughtfulness and her gift to see life through rose colored lenses. She will remain in our hearts forever.
