Sandra "Sandy" Jean Brinson, 76, of Abell, MD passed away peacefully at her home on August 22, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Sandy was born on November 13, 1942 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Maurice Eugene and Ann Foor (Kostak).

Sandy met her best friend and life partner, Jo Anne Cooksey 42 years ago and have had an amazing life together. Sandy worked as a Staffing Specialist, serving 30 years in the Federal Government, and mostly enjoyed her tenure with the Coast Guard.

She was a wonderful woman who loved openly and cherished family and friends. Those who knew her best are aware she was a card shark and was always up for a game. If the sun was shining and the fish biting, she loved to go out on the water. Sandy also had a green thumb, which was reflected in her beautiful flower beds. To know Sandy was to know a kind, and loving soul.

Sandy is survived by her partner, Jo Anne Cooksey of Abell, MD; two (2) children, Kristy Kauffman (Wayne) of New Port Richey, FL and Jimmy Brinson of Huntingtown, MD; and two (2) grandchildren, Drew and Ella Brinson. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Maureen Foor.

The family will receive friends for Sandy's Memorial Life Celebration on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service beginning 7:00 p.m. at Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.
