Christopher "Chris" Lawson, 30, of La Plata, MD, passed away on August 9, 2019 in Linthicum Heights, Maryland.

Chris was born on July 19, 1989 in Washington, DC to Gary L. and Terry L. Lawson of La Plata, Maryland.

Chris graduated from Chesapeake High School in Pasadena, MD. He worked as a skilled welder and HVAC sheet metal fabricator for Local 100.

He was an adventurous soul who loved to spend time outdoors fishing and crabbing on Chincoteague Island, Virginia with his family. He was also an avid runner who enjoyed running not only for physical fitness but to support various causes in 5K runs.

He also had a kindness for children, was passionate about animals and those that did not have a voice of their own.

Along with his mother "his Rock", he is survived by his brother Robert L. Lawson and wife Caitlin of Wamego, Kansas; his grandfather, Raymond J. Gray and grandmother Joyce L. Lawson, Uncle Steve Gray of Mt. Airy, MD, Aunt Tammy and Uncle Bill Salmon of Huntingtown; MD and Aunt Kim and Uncle James Smith of Mechanicsville, MD, and many cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Gary L. Lawson, grandmother Shirley A. Gray, Uncle Dwayne A. Lawson, grandfather Louis L. Lawson and his best buddy, Buster B. Dog.

He was loved by all who knew him and will be forever missed. Chris' family is holding dearly to the knowledge that he is in heaven with numerous family members watching over the rest of us that he left way too soon.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org; Road Dogs & Rescue, www.roadogsandrescue.org; Helping up Mission for Men, www.helpingupmission.org; or a charity of your choice. These were all near and dear to Chris' heart.
