Mrs. Joan A. (McKay) Paul of Waldorf, MD formerly St. Mary's County was born March 18, 1933 in Washington, DC to Otha Sylvester and Olive Belle McKay passed away peaceably on July 14, 2019 at her home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Donald E. Paul, Sr; Granddaughter Mindy Lou Musselman; Brothers Robert McKay and John McKay, Sr; and Sister Mary Scharlau. She is survived by her 4 children Diane Paul of Nokesville, VA; Donald E. Paul, Jr. of Waldorf, Md; John Paul of Cobb Island, MD; and Christine Musselman of Nokesville, VA. She is also survived by her sister Eve Aldridge of Waldorf, MD; Fiancé Lonnie Harden of Brandywine, MD and many other beloved family members.

Mrs. Paul had been a volunteer for hospice of Charles County, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Sharing Love Foundation for Children, and was a loyal and compassionate friend. She worked for the billing department of the C & P Telephone Co. in Washington, DC for several years. After moving to MD. she worked as a Bookkeeper/Cashier for 27 with Super Fresh grocery. Mrs. Paul also substitute taught in Charles County Public Schools for 10 years after her retirement. Mrs. Paul has been a member of Open Gate Church for many years. Since her Granddaughter passing, Mrs. Paul has supported Make-a-Wish and requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Arrangements by Raymond Funeral Service.
