Myrtle Irene Haywood, 83, of La Plata, MD, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at Genesis Elder Care, La Plata, MD.

Mrs. Haywood, formerly of Tampa, FL, was a clerk at People's Drug Store for 20 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and of the Baptist faith.

Born May 2, 1925, in Dunbar, VA, she was the daughter of the late Lester George Day and the late Rachel Shepard Day.

She is survived by her son, John Robinett of Ninde, VA; a daughter, Aleta Robinett of WVA and a sister, Lois Ward of St. Johnsburg, VT; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A private service and interment will be held at a later date in St. Johnsburg, VT.
