Tauta "Lalopua" Asuega, 68, of White Plains, MD formerly of Hawaii passed away on May 24, 2019 at his residence. Tauta was born in Alofau, Tutuila on September 22, 1950 to the late Tauta and Tuileisu Tili Asuega.

Tauta affectionately known as Lalopua was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved sports especially basketball and football in which he was a fan of the Los Angeles Rams and LA Lakers. He loved to make people laugh and was the life of any party. He was a God fearing man who instilled the love for God and the importance of faith and prayer with his family. He was young at heart and passionate about youth ministry. He was a devoted friend and mentor to everyone and a father figure to many of his nieces and nephews. He had a fighting spirt and surely fought to the very end!
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Tauta.

He is survived by his loving wife Faaoi; three daughters, Taulima Montes and her husband José, Sandy Lisa Tauta Robinson and Faye Maua Tauta; six grandchildren, Lorie Montes, José Montes, Jr., Desiree Montes, Grace Montes, Jaydis Robinson and Zayden Robinson; four great-grandchildren, Sage Sullivan, Cruz Sullivan, Zavier Montes and Matoa Montes; his brother Lauvale and sisters Fagaisea, Muagagana, and Fa'atasiga.
