Dallas Edwin Gunter, 82, of Bryans Road, MD passed away on May 25, 2019 at the University of MD Prince George's Hospital Center in Cheverly, MD. Born on August 17, 1936 in Nelson Co., VA to the late Edwin and Lottie Gunter, Dallas is also predeceased by his brother, Keith Gunter; and sister, Linda Gunter. He leaves behind his wife, Becky Gunter; daughters, Judy Rosinski (Philip); Lisa Groenwoldt (John) and Michele Wade (Joseph); brother, Rhoderick Gunter; sisters, Frances Lantz and Barbara Peregoy; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Dallas began his work life as an orderly at the Virginia Training Center in Lynchburg, VA, and went on to work for METRO (formerly D.C. Transit) as a bus operator, retiring after thirty years as a supervisor. Once" retired", he continued to work as a certified tour guide in Washington DC, and drove charter bus tours. Later he became a school bus driver Johnson's Bus Service for Charles Co. Public Schools. He was a Mason and active member of Potomac Heights Baptist Church. Dallas enjoyed old western movies and country music and was happiest when he was with his family and his dog, Robbie.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 4PM to 8PM at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, PA (211 St. Mary's Ave., La Plata, MD); where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 10:30AM; Interment to follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens (3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Rd., Waldorf, MD). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dallas' memory to the American Diabetes Association (2541Crystal Drive, #900, Arlington, VA 22202
