Mary Elizabeth Hill died suddenly of heart failure on October 2, 2008 at her home in Charlotte Hall, Maryland. She worked for 29 years for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, D.C. as a supervisor/typist before retiring. Since retirement Mary enjoyed travelling, especially to South Carolina and being a "Nanny" to four grandchildren.
She was born February 23, 1944 in LaPlata, Maryland to the late Lillian Norris Sterbanis and Andrew "Cherry" Norris. She was raised on Cobb Island. Mary graduated from LaPlata High School in 1962 where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Henry Lee Hill on September 23, 1962. She lived in Charlotte Hall for the past 30 years. She was a member of NARFE and AARP. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Henry Hill of Charlotte Hall, Maryland; daughter, Kelli H. Goldsborough and her husband Joseph E. Goldsborough of Mechanicsville, Maryland; 4 grandchildren, Shirley, Marty, Kasie and Kyra of Mechanicsville, Maryland; sisters, Ann Oliver (Merle) of Waldorf, Maryland; Jean Carder of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Lillian Perk of Tennessee and good friend, Danny Jenkins of Lexington, South Carolina. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Norris. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 5, 2008 at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD from 2:00 - 5:00PM. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 6, 2008 at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Helen, MD. Pallbearers will be Arnold Goldsborough, Bill Goldsborough, Joe Goldsborough, Jimmy Oliver, Jimmy Hill and Robbie Wolfe. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Douglas, J.R.
