Doris Adell Goode, 94, of Waldorf, MD departed this life on Friday, April 25, 2019 at University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center. She was born June 9, 1924 in Allens Fresh, Maryland to the late William Howard Redmond, Jr. and Minnie E. (Herbert) Redmond. Doris was married to her best friend, and soul mate, the late James Warren Goode for over 62 years. She missed him every day since his passing and is rejoicing in heaven with her forever love.

Doris was a beautiful soul with a memorable laugh and a determined personality who enjoyed the beach and dancing. She loved her family above all and worked hard at being an amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Doris lived an adventurous and fun life when she worked for a machinist union during World War II during which time she fell in love with her late husband, Warren. She would go on to work as a school secretary at Skyline Elementary School as well as Overlook Elementary School before retiring to become a full-time homemaker again. She valued the times she was able to cook and feed her entire family with her great meals. Doris was an avid shopper and loved a great deal. She will be missed by many, but her legacy lives on in the spirit and strength she instilled in her family.

Doris is survived by two children, Ronald Goode (Norma) of Upper Marlboro, MD and Donald Goode of Charlotte Hall, MD. She also leaves behind ten (10) grandchildren and twenty-six (26) great-grandchildren and one sister, Violet Horman. Along with her husband and parents she is preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Redmond and Herbert Redmond.
