Howard Alan Knowles, 55, of Lusby, MD passed away September 25, 2008 at his residence. He was born in Park Rapids, MN on October 7, 1952 to the late Lawrence and LaMae Knowles. He was the beloved husband of Veronica Knowles with whom he married on December 26, 2006 in Prince Frederick, MD.

Howard graduated from Henry High School in maples, MN in 1970. He joined the Air Force in 1971 and served his country honorably for 20 years retiring in 1991. While in the Air Force, Howard received the Good Conduct Medal with one Silver Oak Leaf Cluster and one Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, Outstanding Unit award with two Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Medal with one Bronze Service Star, Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, and Longevity Service Award Ribbon.

After retirement from the Air Force, Howard went to work for the U.S. Postal Service as a Mail Handler and worked there until his passing. Howard loved the outdoors, sports especially football, and spending time with his family.

Howard is survived be his wife Veronica Knowles of Lusby, MD; Children, Kelly Kadrlik (Shane) of Chaska, MN, Ben Knowles (Kelly) of Greensburg, PA, Rebecca Knowles of Richfield, MN, Lakisha Lawson of Lusby, MD, Aqueelha James (Jamhel) of Upper Marlboro, MD, Willie Alston and Kathleen Fisher of VA; Siblings, Marjori Knowles of Anoka, MN, Bruce Knowles(Dawn) of Fridley, MN, Marios Knowles (Nancy) of Mols, MN, Bonnie Scott of Coon Rapids, MN, Fred Knowles of South Haven, MN, Doug Knowles (Shari) of MN, DaShawn Lawson of Lusby, MD, Sequoia Hamilton of Lusby, MD, and Nelana and Emmanuel James of Upper Marlboro, MD; 11 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 3, 2008 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the Rausch Funeral Home, 20 American Lane, Lusby, MD with a Funeral Service at 7:00 PM. Interment will be private.
