Karen Elizabeth Susak-McMurray of Sunderland, MD passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the age of 74. She was born February 14, 1945 in Washington, DC. She is survived by her husband Thomas E. McMurray, son Stephen Matthew Susak of Myrtle Beach, SC, daughter Dana Marie Susak of Prince Frederick, MD. She is also survived by a special granddaughter Alexa Marie Lynam, and many nieces and nephews.

She moved to Calvert County and married Tom in 1995. Karen was retired after 35 years as a Tech Assistant in dental services. Karen served at Chesapeake Church on every Friday preparing the weekly church bulletins. For many years, she volunteered to deliver meals and groceries to seniors in Calvert County through the Chesapeake Church "End Hunger". She loved seniors and pets. By working with the tri-county SPCA, she assisted in aiding and placing many cats and dogs in forever homes throughout the three counties.

Service will be held at Chesapeake Church, 6045 Solomons Island Road, Huntingtown, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either the Calvert Animal Welfare League (CAWL) of The Chesapeake Church "End Hunger". Arrangements by Lee Funeral Home.
