Patricia "Pat" Mary Sharar, 89, of Waldorf, Maryland passed away Monday March 4, 2019 surrounded by her adoring family. She was preceded in death by her "Darling Stinker" Harry Charles Sharar, sister Velma Lowe, and mother and father Norma and Joseph Vincent Lowe. Pat was born October 25, 1929 in Elmhurst, New York.

Patricia was known to her many friends as Pat. She was a devoted volunteer for Special Olympics of Charles County and the number one fan of her daughter and athlete Shana Sharar. She spent most of her time at the many events taking score and cheering on the many athletes that she loved so very much. She enjoyed spending time with her "lunch bunch" at Golden Corral. Pat was probably one of the few if not only one of their patrons to have table side service at a buffet and be known to almost every employee by first name. She also loved camping with her beloved husband Harry in Solomon's Island with her grandchildren and fellow campers. Pat was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians in Waldorf, Maryland. She and Shana arrived every Saturday at 3 o'clock sharp to help prepare for mass.

Known as Momsy to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she spent many summer days pool side with foam surfboards and pool toys. Momsy loved every minute spent with her grandbabies. As her grandkids got older, she became more of a best friend and confidant, and she always loved a good secret! Shopping trips were always fun looking for the perfect shade of pink lip stick and the perfect shoe. She was the Ace Hardware store of the family, if you needed it, she had it……somewhere. Momsy always made Christmas special with her grab bag of goodies. She always made sure to include everyone, even the unexpected guest. Any visit to Momsy's house you were sure to come home with a bag of trinkets, anything from umbrella hats to fuzzy slippers. Her grandchildren, Kathy (Kathypoo), Terrie, Tricia, Stevie, Annie, Darin, JD, Mickey, Jonathan, and Maggie along with her great-grandchildren, Cameron, Blake, Frankie, Lincoln, Ryleigh, Grayson, Leilani, Harrison (Harry), Eloise, Una Sparrow and Elliott where her pride and joy.

Pat was an animal lover. During every phone conversation she would ask about her granddogs. She loved her two puppies Lady and Boy.

Pat is survived by her sister Muriel R. Cipriani of Phoenix Arizona and five children, sons, Gary Sharar of Florida, Harry Joseph Sharar and his wife, Susan Sharar of Huntingtown MD, daughters, Susan Salamy and her husband, Raymond Salamy of Bryantown MD, Debra Jo LaForest and her Husband, Mark LaForest of Ocean City, MD, and Shana Lee Sharar of Waldorf, MD.

Visitation on Monday, March 11, 2019 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM with Prayer Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Additional visitation on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 10AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, 100 Village Street, Waldorf, MD 20602. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Road, Clinton, MD 20735. Memorial contributions in Pat's name are asked to Charles County Special Olympics, 8190 Port Tobacco Road, Port Tobacco, MD 20677.
