![]() James G. "Jimmy" King, 68, of Chesapeake Beach, MD, died September 18, 2008 at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He was born September 26, 1939 in Sunderland, MD, and raised in Chesapeake Beach.
He worked as a farmer in his youth, and began his career in construction as a carpenter at age sixteen. He worked for Hopkins and Waysons Construction Company his entire career, retiring as a superintendent in 2004. He was married to Gloria A. Stallings in 1961, and they later divorced. He enjoyed horse racing, gambling, slot machines and playing the lottery. He was a vegetable and flower gardener, and also enjoyed walking on the boardwalk at North Beach. He is survived by his former wife Gloria A. (Stallings) King of Lothian, MD, daughters Marie Antoinette "Toni" King of Lothian and Rhonda Renee Chaney and her husband Leslie of Chesapeake Beach, a son J. Mark King and his wife Laura of St. Leonard, MD, a grandson Jacob W. King and granddaughter Ashley N. Stinnett, both of St. Leonard, sisters Edna Mae Gott of Prince Frederick, MD and Pearl Salmon of Chesapeake Beach, and a brother William A. King of Huntingtown, MD. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Preston W.
