Evelyn Miller Sams, 86 of Mechanicsville, MD, formerly of Fort Washington, MD, died on September 14, 2008 at St. Mary's Nursing Center, Lexington Park, MD.

Born on June 21, 1922 in Capitol Heights, MD, she was the daughter of the late Louis A. and Viola Atkinson Miller. Ms. Sams was a Homemaker and has resided in this area since 1955. She was a member of Southern Maryland Antique Club and Surrants Society which she gave tours.

Survived by her sons, Christian K. and R. Michael Sams, and 3 grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by husband, Robert M. Sams, and siblings, Virginia Gray and Louis A. Miller, Jr.

Service and Interment private.
