James Michael "Jim" Auth, 75, formerly of Hughesville, MD passed away on December 19, 2018 and declared deceased on December 20, 2018. Born March 7, 1943 in Washington D.C. He was the son of the late Carl Francis Auth and Mildred Padgett Campbell. Jim was the loving husband of 56 years to Judy Wagner Auth who were married on June 30, 1962.

In addition to being survived by his wife, Jim is survived by his children: Debora Waryanka (Michael) of Grove City, PA; Shanon Garner (Tim) of Manassas, VA and Melinda Auth Scheller of Clements, MD. Jim is survived by his brother, Michael (Lucy) Auth of Rockville, MD. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Reuben (Corinne) Garner, Amanda (Jon) Hilliard, Andrew Waryanka, Alyssa Waryanka, Hannah Garner, Luke Garner, Peyton Scheller, Rayna Scheller, William Scheller and Carson Scheller.

Jim moved from Suitland, MD to Hughesville, MD in 1975. He worked for Southern Maryland Electric Co-Op, Hughesville, MD for over 20 years; retiring in 1999. Jim and Judy spent their retirement years traveling in their RV across the US. After 10+ years of traveling and making many friends along the way, they settled down in Lake Wales, FL until moving to Manassas, VA earlier this year to be closer to family.

Jim loved traveling in their RV, which he meticulously kept spotless. You could always find him polishing, waxing his Peterbuilt truck and 5th wheel. Jim loved landscaping, planting shrubs/flowers and tinkering; whether at his place or any of his daughters' home. He loved staying busy with projects. Jim was also known for reminding others of his favorite slogans: One Day at a Time; Let Go and Let God; Everyday is a gift.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 2PM in Encounter Christian Center (ECC), 30080 Henry Lane; Charlotte Hall, MD for a Celebration of Life Service. In lieu of flowers, tax-deductible memorial contributions may be made to SMECO Members Helping Members; PO Box 1937; Hughesville, MD 20637 in memory of Jim Auth.
